Physical abilities: Walking, running, trying to jump, loves to climb up on the kitchen chairs and table!!
Speech/language: Lots of babbling and strings of babbling that sound like sentences. Says mama and dada, mmmmm (for moo). Exploding with baby signs! Eat, more, cracker, banana, please, hat.
Reading/pre-reading: Absolutely loves his books! His favorites are these little nursery rhyme books that I picked up from a consignment sale. Best $1.00 I've spent!
Other cognitive stuff: Such an observant little guy! He definitely understands what we say. He'll even go find his "fuzzy" crocs instead of his regular crocs when we ask him. He'll do the hand motions to "Itsy Bitsy Spider" now. He's favorite part is "washed the spider out!"as he throws his hands to the side with umph!
Eating: The latest obsession is bananas! He would eat them all day long if we would like him. Its the first thing he asks for in the morning. Loves eggs and sausage for breakfast. I'm happy he likes eggs because he won't eat much else for protein. We tried peanut butter this month as well and it was a hit!
Sleeping: Awesome sleeper! Great napper and night time sleeper. Teething bothers him a little bit, but a few minutes of cuddles and he's back asleep.
Social: We started Kindermusik this month and realized that Ethan is definitely a follower. There is another little boy who struggles to listen and tends to run around the room. Ethan does great until he notices the other little boy and then wants to do what he's doing.
Character/personality: Still Mr. Independent and my daredevil! And loves his playgrounds! We were at Stroller Strides the other day and he caught sight of the playground while we were doing abs and took off running for it. He runs (well toddles) and squeals when he sees a playground!

Age: 16 months
Weight: I'm guessing around 24lb 2oz
Height: around 33in
Physical abilities: Cruising, crawling, "walks" on his knees, and has stood on his own for a few seconds! I think we'll be walking soon! Also figured out how to climb up onto the table. Almost gave me a heart attack one night when I was cooking and I turned around to see him on the table! He had never even climbed the chairs before!
Speech/language: Babbles non-stop! Says mama, dada, shoe, kitty, mmmm, snorts for a pig. Signs more, eat, and milk.
Reading/pre-reading: Will cuddle to read a story or two before needing to move onto the next thing to do.
Other cognitive stuff: Working on stacking blocks, putting together their "squeaky eggs." He concentrating hard on trying to walk right now, so that's where a lot of his focus is.
Eating: Also loves bananas, though not quite as much as his brother! He's turned into a picky eater and you never know what he'll eat and what he won't each day. When he wants to eat, he scarfs it down, but when he doesn't want to eat something- Watch out! He'll throw it all over the floor. I'm trying to break that habit by taking his tray from him when he does it, but it doesn't seem to be working.
Sleeping: Knock on wood, but sleep is improving! We did a modified version of CIO by doing 5in/5out until we got to a point where he was just whining in his crib and going in got him more hysterical. Now he'll turn on his crib soother and find one of his blankets and go back to sleep. He's also not waking up until around 6am. He'll wake up a few nights a week, but much better than every night!
Social: Loves checking things out when we are out and about. The other morning at Stroller Strides, the other little boy had ventured off to the basketball court. Chase stood up on his knees and started 'yelling' at Colin to come back. Adorable!
Character/personality: My cuddle bug! Loves to give hugs and kisses and just sit on my lap and relax with me. A wonderful way to come home and sit for a few minutes after a long day at work!
